PNG Sunday and Mumu Lunch

3 September 2017 9:30am - 1:30pm

Location: Stafford Salvos

"What do you usually do on Sundays?" "Have you ever eaten from a Papua New Guinea mumu?"

A mumu is a traditional way of preparing food in ground oven filled with hot stones, lined with banana leaves. Food is layered under leafy greens, root and starchy vegetables, meat, spices, salt, fruits, another layer of leafy greens.

This Sunday we are hosting a special morning, starting at 9:30 AM with our Family Worship Service followed by our mumu lunch at 12:00pm.

If you have a national costume, please wear it, we wish to recognise and visibly celebrate our diversity in heritage and culture.

We are very excited about Sunday, it should be a really great day. Let's remember to be welcoming and move beyond our comfort zones and make other feel welcome. Thanks to Tinah, Sabina and Lucy!

Everyone please bring the extra items to share salads, desserts, nibblies, soft drinks/juice!
